Job Description: We are currently seeking to fill a full-time position for a UDT Specimen Collector for a laboratory that services a busy medium sized pain management practice in Austin, TX.
Requirements:
Previous background working in a medical practice or laboratory is required.
Additional skills needed to perform this position are: attention to detail, honest work ethic, above average customer service, good computer skills & competence with Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel.
PRINICIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other laboratory duties may be assigned.
• UDT Specimen Collector will perform all tasks for the laboratory exclusively while functioning inside a medical practice. The individual must maintain high level of integrity, be service oriented, with a strong work ethic and conduct work in a professional manner at all times when dealing with medical staff in the office and also with patients.
• The UDT Specimen Collector will observe and follow all state and federal laws for specimen collection duties and responsibilities within a physician’s office
• Complete all requisition forms and insurance documentation needed for specimen collection
• Manage timely transport of daily specimen collection to laboratory via UPS/FEDEX
• Weekly supply inventory & ordering additional supplies as needed
• Enter new-client data into on-line laboratory provider portal
• Maintains organization of the collection area
• Other duties that may be assigned, exclusively to the laboratory
